TYPES OF MASSAGE

SWEDISH THERAPEUTIC
A relaxing massage using long, slow, gliding movements to manipulate muscle. Encourages relaxation, increases the movement of body fluids (toxins) and circulation, and soothes the nervous system.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
Consists of very light finger touch to the cranium/skull to encourage a balancing of the cranial rhythm. This is done to support the flow cerebrospinal fluid around the brain and throughout the vetebral column to reduce chronic pain and other ailments.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
Utilizes slow penetrating movements to soften and stretch fascia (connective tissue that encases the muscles and all the body’s organs). Freeing fascial restrictions can help muscles resume their normal resting length and increase range of motion

PREGNANCY MASSAGE
Massage during pregnancy can help relieve muscle tightness and cramping, along with any other discomfort created by the bodily changes of pregnancy. Treatment can be done side-lying or, depending on the stage of pregnancy, on a special cushion.

SPORTS MASSAGE
Sports massage can help an athlete prepare or recover from an event or training. Techniques can vary based on the needs of the athlete and type of activity. Generally they involve moderate to deep pressure along with some stretching to relieve muscle tension and restrictions.

AROMATHERAPY/RAINDROP THERAPY
Both aromatherapy and raindrop therapy use essential oils to help relieve aches and pains and also back problems. It can also help with other ailments including virus’ and colds.

LYMPH DRAINAGE THERAPY
Lymph drainage therapy uses gentle slow motions to stimulate the lymph drainage system while removing toxins and activating the body’s natural defenses. This can also help reduce water retention.

ENERGY WORK/ZERO BALANCING
Energy work which can include Reiki, Quantum Touch, and Polarity involves the gentle subtle laying on of hands to facilitate the movement of energy throughout the body. This work helps move any energy blockages which are preventing the client from healing either physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Zero balancing works energetically with structure rather than soft tissue. These can be performed as a session in itself or during the massage session.

REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology uses finger pressure to effect certain points on the hands and feet which correlate to specific areas and organs of the body. This therapy can effect these regions indirectly through nerves that run from those areas to the hands and feet.

MEDICAL MASSAGE
Massage that is more outcome based. Usually this is used to directly effect a specific problem such as sciatica, carpal tunnel, tendonitis, or to relieve chronic pain patterns within the body.

ONCOLOGY MASSAGE
The therapist has a understanding in dealing with the different modalities one must endure during their treatment of cancer. Each session is geared toward where the client is in this process.

NEUROMUSCULAR/DEEP TISSUE
This therapy uses deeper techniques that effects the various layers of fascia that surround the tissue. It loosens the bonds between the layers of connective tissue.
